What is your child's newest hyperfixation?

What is your child’s current hyperfixation?

And by “current,” I mean the thing that is now apparently part of the family. The thing you know way too much about because someone has educated you against your will. The thing that has taken over conversations, YouTube history, toy bins, birthday requests, bedtime routines, car rides, and possibly your entire personality by association.

Dinosaurs? Elevators? Pokémon? Vacuum cleaners? Trains? Maps? Weather alerts? Minecraft? Certain logos? One very specific scene from one very specific movie?

Whatever it is, I want to hear it.

Because honestly, one of my favourite things about neurodivergent kids is how deeply they love what they love. The passion, the details, the memory, the commitment — unmatched.

So tell us:

What is your child currently obsessed with? How long has it been going on? And what random facts do you now know because of it? 😂

No judgment here. We are all just parents accidentally becoming experts in niche topics we never signed up for. Man parenting is a wild ride isn't it? LOL

We’ve always got some sort of fixation in our house. Most of them are parts from different shows. My son is 10. He’s nonverbal, and has apraxia of speech so sometimes it can be difficult to decipher what he’s saying but my god it is so darn sweet! Right now he yells MOANA!!! Or one of my favourites is from Angry Birds. “Anger is a weed” comes out “Anga izz a weee” 🥹

He’s also OBSESSED with woody and buzz!! Has posters and figurines. He hasn’t even seen any of the movies. I’m 36 and talking toys still freak me out, don’t judge me! 😂

A new one is he likes to stick his head in the toilet as it flushes. Who doesn’t love a poo water facial??(heeeelp me lol) he also MUST watch until the toilet is completely flushed before he’ll walk away lol
